Women Walk to Shah Cheragh in Shiraz on First Day of Karamat Festival
TEHRAN (IQNA) – On Tuesday, which marked the beginning of the ten-day Karamat Festival, a number of women in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz walked from Um Ahmad shrine to Shah Cheragh.
The Keramat Festival celebrates the ten days between the birth anniversaries of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) and Imam Reza (AS), the daughter and son of the 7th Shia Imam, Imam Musa Kadhim (AS).
Shah Cheragh is a funerary monument housing the tomb of the brothers Ahmad and Muhammad, sons of Imam Kadhim (AS).
The birth anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) marks the "Girls Day” in Iran.
