Ramadan Quran Competition for Children Underway in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Dar-ol-Quran Center of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine in Najaf, Iraq, has organized the 4th edition of a written Quran competition titled “Month of God” for Iraqi children.

 

According to the website of the holy shrine’s Astan (custodianship), Safa Al-Ameri, a member of the organizing committee. said that the main objective of the Quranic event is to disseminate the Quranic culture among the children in the holy month of Ramadan.

2000 copies of the competition’s source-book and questions have been distributed among the students of the center as well as other children who participate in the daily Quran reading sessions of different holy shrines in the Arab country, he said.

The competition is held annually for children and teenagers aged 7 to 18 and the answers should be sent to the Astan by the 28th of the holy month of Ramadan.

Ameri added that the winners will be announced in the last Quranic session of the Astan on the day of Eid Al-Fitr.

The competition is a part of the Astan’s Quranic plan titled “The Holy Quran’s Youth” which has been implemented during Ramadan with the participation of 200 students.

Educational programs including courses on Quran reading and memorization, Islamic jurisprudence, ethics and daily Quran reading sessions are parts of the plan.
