Iran to Attend Quran Contests in Kuwait, Jordan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran will send representatives to international Quran competitions in Kuwait and Jordan.

 

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Moqanni, deputy of the Quranic Affairs Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, the country has received invitations from the two Arab countries for attending the contests.

Hence, he said, Hamid Reza Moqaddasi will represent the Islamic Republic in Kuwait’s international Quranic event.

Moqaddasi, who came second in Iran’s national Quran contest and did well in the qualifications event, will compete for Iran in the recitation category, Hojat-ol-Islam Moqanni said.

He added that Reza Golshahi will be Iran’s representative in the men’s section of Jordan’s international Quran competition.

In the women’s section, memorizer of the entire Quran Fatemeh Shirazi will be Iran’s contender, the cleric went on to say.
