Renowned Egyptian Quran Memorizer Dies

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A prominent memorizer of the Holy Quran died on Thursday.

According to al-Dastour news website, Sheikh Ibraheem Fatayir died at the age of 81.

His funeral was held after Mgahrib and Isha prayers on Thursday in the city of Billa, Kafr Elsheikh province.  

Born in 1938 in Billa, Fatayir went blind due to a medical complicationa t 7.

He managed to learn the entire Holy Quran at the age of 14.

He went on to become a famous teacher of the Quran and a Muezzin and Qari.

Fatayir trained a large number of Quran memorizers and Qaris in his lifetime.
