Quran, Islamic Studies Faculty Opens in Jeddah University

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Faculty of Quran and Islamic Studies was opened in Jaddah University of Saudi Arabia in a ceremony with Mish’al bin Majid, governor of Jeddah Province, in attendance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to almadenahnews.com, the faculty was opened on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the university’s 10th student Quran competition held on January 28.

It is the second specialized faculty for Quranic sciences in Saudi Arabia and was launched in line with the renovation project of the university aiming to promote scientific studies in Quranic fields.

The 10th edition of the student Quran competition in Jeddah University was held from January 20 to 28 with the participation of 500 male and female students from 21 universities of Jeddah province.

They competed in the categories of memorization of 30, 20, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran with observation of Tajweed and recitation principles.

The winners were awarded a total of 500000 Saudi Riyals at the end of the ceremony.
