TEHRAN (IQNA) – Around 1,000 teachers from different parts of Kuwait participated in a competition held on memorization of the Quran.

According to the daily Al-Siyasiya, the al-Mutamayyizin Quranic institute organized the Quranic event in cooperation with the country’s education ministry.

The Grand Mosque in Kuwait City hosted the competition earlier this month.

It was aimed at promoting Quranic activities among the teachers and identifying Quranic talents, according to the organizers.

Yusuf Samiei, director of the Quranic institute, in a speech at the closing ceremony underlined the need for promoting Quran memorization.

He said this especially important for teachers because they are role models for the society.
