Iran Int’l Quran Contests: Arbiters Announced

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization announced members of the panel of judges of the country’s 36th international Quran competitions.

 

According to the organization, Abdol Rasoul Abayi from Iran will head the panel of judges of the main competition, the one for men, as well as those for school students and visually-impaired.

It also includes Iranians Mohammad Reza Abolqassemi, Reza Mohammadpour, Gholam Reza Shahmiveh and Seyed Mehdi Seyf.

Mohamed Asfour from Egypt, Sayyed Aqil Munawar from Indonesia, Ishaq Danish from Turkey, Mohammad Ali Atfay from Morocco, Muhammad Arif al-Asali from Syria, Fakhri Sadkhan Shanin al-Shumaili from Iraq, Samih Ahmed Khalid al-Athamina from Jordan, Omar Bu Saada from Algeria and Othman bin Muda from Malaysia are the foreign members of the panel.

The 36th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competitions will be held in Tehran in April.

According to the organizers, it will be held from April 10 to 15.

As well as the contests for men, school students and visually-impaired, there will be competitions for seminary students and women. 

The Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually organizes the competitions with the participation of Quran memorizers and reciters from various countries.

Last year, nearly 370 foreign guests, including the contenders, Quran experts and members of the panels of judges, took part in the competitions.
