36 Make It to Finals of Int’l Quran Contest for Seminary Students

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final round of the 3rd edition of the international Quran competition for seminary students is slated to be held in Iran on April 12-13.

 

According to an official with the organizing committee, a total of 234 seminary students from 51 countries took part in the preliminary round.

The official added that 60 of the contenders, who are from 36 countries, qualified for the final round, which will be held in the holy city of Qom.

He said Iran, India, Ghana, Bangladesh, Turkey, Russia, Albania, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Croatia, Pakistan, Tanzania, and Indonesia are among the countries that will have representatives in the finals.

He noted that memorization of the entire Quran, recitation of the Quran, Quranic oration, and Quranic dissertations are the categories of the contest.

Six Quran experts from Iran and other countries will make up the panel of judges, he went on to say.
