TEHRAN (IQNA) – Maldives’ Ministry of Education has begun probing a case where verses of the Holy Quran were miswritten in a recently published book.

The matter was brought to the ministry’s attention by famous Islamic scholar Dr. Mohamed Iyaz, via a tweet he had posted about the book.

His tweet points out that the local book, the title of which translates to “Help in reciting the Holy Quran for students”, has miswritten verses of the Holy Quran in it.

Iyaz urged everyone who has bought the book to be cautious when using it to educate their children.

The Education Ministry was quick to respond to the tweet, writing that they are looking into the matter.

The book in question was publicized with the permit of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. Such books may only be given publication rights after required approval from the customs.
