Quran Recitation Contest Planned in Quetta, Pakistan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iqra’ Dar-ol-Quran in Quetta, Pakistan, plans to hold a Quran recitation competition among the Quranic centers of Shia and Sunni Muslims of the country.

 

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Iranian Cultural Center in Pakistan will cooperate in organizing the competition before the holy month of Ramadan.

The plan was discussed in a meeting of Abdul Razzaq, an expert Qari of the city and Ibrahim Kasi, an internationally known Pakistani Qari with Kourosh Aqdayi, Iranian cultural attaché in Quetta.

Introducing the Quranic activities of the center, the Iranian official said that the competition aims to highlight the unity among Shia and Sunni Muslims of the region.

The Pakistani Quran activists appreciated the decision of the center and expressed willingness to cooperate in holding the Quranic event.

The Iranian Cultural Center will host the competition on April 25.
