Nat’l Quran Recitation Program Gets Underway in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The fifth edition of a national Quran recitation program, known as Amir al-Qurra (best Qari), began in Iraq on Tuesday.

 

The Quranic Research Center affiliated to the Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine has organized the event, according to the website of the Astan.

Some 120 Qaris from different parts of the Arab country have taken part in the Quranic program.

It will run for two months at al-Alqami Complex of the Astan in the holy city of Karbala.

The Qaris follow Quran recitation schools including Sheikh Hafiz Khalil Esmail, Sheikh Abdul Fattah al-Shaashaei and Sheikh Muhammad Sediq Minshawi.

In addition to Quran recitation, the program includes religious courses on Fiqh, Islamic teachings, etc.
