Leader Offers Condolences on Passing of Senior Cleric

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei extended his condolences over the passing of senior cleric Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Hosseini Shahroudi.

In a message on Tuesday, the Leader offered condolences to the family of Ayatollah Shahroudi and the seminaries of Qom and Najaf the disciples and lovers of the cleric.

Ayatollah Shahroudi, who lived in Qom after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, was a prominent Faqih (Islamic jurist) teaching in the seminaries of Najaf and Qom.

He died in a hospital in Tehran on Sunday and his funeral will be held in Qom on Tuesday.
