Iraqi Pilgrims Injured in Bus Crash in West Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – At least 22 people were injured after a bus carrying Iraqi pilgrims plunged off a road and overturned in Iran’s western province of Lorestan, an official said.

 

Hossein Ali Refaei, head of the province’s medical emergencies center, told reporters on Sunday that the bus crash happened on the road between the cities of Khorramabad and Koohdasht on Saturday night.

He added that at least 22 people were injured in the incident.

According to the official, the injured were transferred to a hospital in Khorramabad, the provincial capital.

Every year millions of Iranians go to Iraq and millions of Iraqis travel to Iran for visits to the two countries’ pilgrimage sites.
