Specialized Quranic Course for University Instructors Concludes in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first specialized Quranic course for Iraqi university instructors concluded in a ceremony in Karbala.

 

The course, titled “Al-Joud” (munificent and benevolent), was organized by the Quranic institute of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas’ (AS) holy shrine.

As many as 50 teachers from 14 universities of the country took the course.

The closing ceremony began with recitation of the Quran by prominent Qari Nabil al-Silawi, followed by speeches by the organizers of the course.

The course included lessons on Tajweed, recitation, Quran teaching methods, Islamic beliefs, and Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence).

The participants received certificate of attendance at the end of the ceremony.

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
