Addressing the opening ceremony of the 42nd national Quran contest of the Islamic Republic, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi, head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, said the 37th International Quran Competition will be organized in Mashhad next year.
He noted that the top winners of the national competition will make it to the international event.
The national competition kicked off in a ceremony in the central city of Isfahan on Saturday.
The international Quranic event is annually held with the participation of top Quran reciters and memorizers from around the world.
In the past years, the capital city of Tehran has hosted the competition.
