Reopening Mosques A Decision for Crisis Management Committee: Gaza Awqaf Ministry
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Awqaf (Islamic endowments) Ministry in the Gaza Strip said the crisis management committee is the one to decide when mosques in the coastal enclave will reopen.
Given the outbreak of the coronavirus, the committee will decide on when to reopen the places of worship in each area given the COVID-19 situation in that area, the ministry said in a statement, Safa News reported.
It added that whenever mosques reopen their doors, there will be special measures implemented to ensure the health of worshippers.
Mosques in Gaza were shut on March 25 to stem the coronavirus outbreak.
In late May, the Awqaf Ministry said they will reopen only for Friday and Eid prayers.
