Quran Study Center for Blind Opened in Tatarstan

An opening ceremony of a center for the study of the Quran for blind and visually impaired people was held July 10 in Almetyevsk region of Tatarstan.

 

Opening of the Center was held in the framework of "Ramadan - the month of good deeds" campaign, organized by the Spiritual Administration of Tatarstani Muslims.
The ceremony began with congratulations of deputy mufti of Tatarstan Rustam-Hazrat Batrov. He presented a copy of the Holy Quran and books on religious topics, designed for reading and writing for blind people according to the method of Braille.
Visually impaired and blind Muslims of Almetyevsk district, attended the opening, expressed sincere gratitude to the clergy of the district and the Spiritual Administration of Tatarstani Muslims. This event is a great joy for visually impaired Muslims, because now they have an opportunity to attend courses on the fundamentals of Islam and recitation of the Holy Quran.
A separate room has been designed for training blind and visually impaired Muslims at the central mosque of the district. Once a week, one of the city's taxi companies based on charity will bring the visually impaired on the courses, and will drive homes after classes - said Imam mukhtasib of Almetyevsk district Fagim-hazrat Akhmetzyanov.
