Winner of the first title in the recitation category of Al-Mustafa University’s 19th Quran and Hadith Olympiad described the Olympiad as a symbol of Muslim unity.

Seyed Morteza Alavi who came first in the recitation category last year, said the most important feature of the competition is that it brings together a large number of Qaris and memorizers from various countries.
He added that the annual event provides a venue for interactions among Quran activists.
According to Alavi, the presence of internationally acclaimed Quran master such as Shahriar Parhizgar and Shahidi in the jury panel of the Olympiad is another major advantage which contributes to the quality of the contest.
The 20th edition of Al-Mustafa University’s Quran and Hadith Olympiad has started in Iran and 40 other countries.
It takes place in Al-Mustafa University branches in different countries until January next year.
The Olympiad began a few weeks ago concurrent with Eid al-Qadir and will come to an end in a ceremony early next year.
The international event is held in three sections, namely Islamic teachings (written), oral and research.
Every year, thousands of the university’s students take part in the international Olympiad, which is aimed at promoting the teachings of the Holy Quran and Islam.
