TEHRAN (IQNA) – Head of the Iranian Quranic delegation to Hajj, Saleh Atharifard, and three members of the delegation returned home.

Atharifard, Ebrahim Fallah, Mohammad Reza Taqani and Hadi Izadpanahi arrived at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Airport on Friday.

They were received by the head of the Dar-ol-Quran Organization, director of the Quran Radio and members of the Supreme Quran Council at the airport.

Other members of the delegation, minus five, had returned to the country earlier.

On September 24, a crush of pilgrims in Mina, near the holy city of Makkah, killed over 4700 people, including at least 465 Iranians.

Among them were five members of Iran’s 20-strong Quranic delegation to Hajj.

Hassan Danesh, Amin Bavi, Mohsen Hajihassani Kargar, Foad Mash’ali and Saeed Saeedizadeh died in the tragic Mina crush while performing the Hajj rituals.
