Reports about Ayatollah Sistani Heart Attack Dismissed
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The office of senior Iraqi Shia cleric Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani dismissed reports that he has had a heart attack.
According to al-Sumaria news, the office in a statement said that Ayatollah Sistani is in good health and in the past few days, has continued to perform his daily activities, including meetings with people and different personalities.
It called on media outlets to be more careful to ensure the accuracy of the reports they publish.
Some reports in recent days claimed that Ayatollah Sistani’s refusal to meet with some cabinet ministers was due to his health conditions and that he has had a heart attack.
Ayatollah Sistani is Iraq’s top Marja (Shia source of emulation) and an influential figure in the country.
