A Million Iranian School Students Have Taken Part in Quran Memorization Plan: Official
Mohammad Reza Mossayebzadeh, the director general of the ministry’s Quran, Etrat and Prayers Department, said it was part of activities carried out by the ministry to train Quran memorizers given the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s emphasis on training 10 million memorizer of the Holy Book in the country.
He said the ministry also participated in the Noor (national Quran memorization) plan in which some 4 million school students started learning the Quran by heart.
Referring to other Quranic activities of the Education Ministry, Mossayebzadeh told Tasnim news agency that it has established 750 Dar-ol-Quran centers in schools across the country.
He also highlighted publishing various books with Quranic and religious themes, holding Quranic and religious contests for school students, and organizing Quran recitation sessions in schools and education departments as some of other Quranic and religious activities of the ministry.
