According to Bawaba al-Ahram website, the contenders of the second day were from Congo, Mauritania, Ethiopia, Bahrain, Malaysia, Comoros Islands and Sera Leone.
The third edition of the international Quranic event got underway in Dubai on Sunday.
Representatives of 63 countries are taking part in the competition, which will run until November 16.
Twelve-year-old memorizer of the entire Quran Zahra Khalili is representing Iran in the contest.
