Women Quran Memorizers Honored in Lebanon
According to the National News Agency of Lebanon, the Al-Bayan Islamic Quranic Association organized the program, which was sponsored by Sheikh Malik Al-Sha’ar, Mufti of Tripoli, and the North Governorate of the country.
The women were memorizers of the entire Quran or at least five Juzes (parts) of Quran.
The ceremony began with Quran recitation by Khalid Barakat, eminent Qari of Akkar District, and continued with a speech by Sheikh Ahmad Sha’rani, head of the association.
The Mufti of Tripoli also addressed the program, hailing the activities of the association and the women’s success in Quran memorization.
He stressed the necessity for supporting the Quranic association and said that memorization of Quran will promote social virtues and good behaviors.
The third edition of the Islamic Association’s exhibition was also held on the sidelines of the ceremony on December 28.
