Ramadan Seminar Held in Mauritania

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A seminar titled “Ramadan and the Quran” was held in Mauritania on Monday.

 

The Mauritania Radio Mosque hosted the event, which featured a speech by religious scholar Sheikh Muhammad al-Mukhtar ould Imbala, AMI website reported.

In his address, the scholar elaborated on the meaning of Ramadan and said in this month, God forgives the sins of people.

He also highlighted this month’s relation with the Quran and said Ramadan is the month of the Quran.

The Holy Book was revealed to Holy Prophet (PBUH) in this month, he noted.

Sheikh Imbala stressed that Ramadan is also a time for charity and helping those in need.

The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a country in the Maghreb region of western North Africa.

The country’s population is estimated to be about 4 million and virtually all Mauritanians are Muslims.

Quranic activities and programs are very popular in the African country.
