IQNA – Egypt’s Awqaf minister said the country’s international Quran contest will be held with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from 60 countries.

The Dar-ul-Quran Center of the Masjid Misr in Egypt’s new administrative capital will host the event, which will be the 30th edition of the competition, he noted.

Gomaa said that on the sidelines of the competition, a plan for recitation of 40 Hadiths of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) will be held at the Imam Hussein (AS) Mosque in Cairo.

He had earlier said the total amount of cash prizes for this edition will be over 8 million Egyptian pounds, showing a 300-percent growth compared to last year’s edition.
