According to the Iranian Cultural Center in Kenya, the Saudi government has increased the quota from the previous 4500 to 6000.
Hence, 1500 more Kenyans will be able to take part in the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
Hajj is an annual pilgrimage to Mecca for millions of Muslims from all over the world.
It is one of the world’s largest gatherings on Earth. For Muslims, the Hajj is a central pillar of the Islamic faith meant to cleanse the faithful of sin and bring them closer to God.
Every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake Hajj once during their lifetime.
This year, the Hajj pilgrimage will be in September.
