Algeria Calls for Development of Quranic Cooperation with Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Algeria’s Religious Affairs and Endowments Minister Youssef Belmehdi called for enhancement of the Arab country’s cooperation with Iran in Quranic fields.

 

Speaking in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Hossein Mashalchizadeh and Seyed Jalal Jafari Miraghaei, Iran’s cultural attaché in Algeria, Belmehdi referred to holding Quranic festivals and educational programs as areas for enhanced cooperation.

He also highlighted the two countries’ similar views on the issue of Palestine and al-Aqsa Mosque, the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization reported.

In the meeting, Mashalchizadeh invited Belmehdi to visit Iran to attend the upcoming International Muslim Unity Conference.

Also, Jafari Miraghaei expressed the readiness of the Iranian cultural center in Algeria for holding Quranic, cultural and literary festivals.
