Martyr Beheshti Museum in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Today, June 28, marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti, the then Chief Justice of Iran, and 72 other Iranian officials, 40 years ago.

On June 28, 1981, the terrorist Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) planted a bomb in the Islamic Republic Party’s head office in Tehran, killing Ayatollah Beheshti and 72 high-ranking Iranian officials.

The week leading to the martyrdom anniversary of the officials marks the Judiciary Week in Iran.

The home of Ayatollah Beheshti in Qolhak, north of Tehran, has been purchased and turned into a museum by Tehran’s Municipality.
