TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egyptian Qari Mahmoud Shahat Anwar attended a Quranic circle in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, reciting some verses of the Holy Book.

Organized by Maarif Islamic-Cultural Association, the event was held at Imam Reza (AS) complex in Zahiyeh neighborhood on the occasion of Eid al- Mabath (the Day Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was appointed to deliver His mission).

Some 200 people attended the Quranic circle which was held on Saturday.

Born in 1984, Anwar memorized the entire Quran at the age of 12 and learned Quran recitation with his father.

He has won many top titles in national and international Quran competitions.

The top Qari has traveled to many countries, including Iraq, Iran, Qatar, the UAE, Algeria, Syria, Pakistan, South Africa, Greece, Turkey, and Belgium, for the recitation of the Quran.

Maarif Islamic-Cultural Association has planned to stage a series of Quranic circles on the occasion of Eid al-Mabath.

The programs will start on Feb. 27 and go on for five days in different mosques across the region.

Imam Ali (AS) Mosque in Al-Hawsh town, Imam Hussein (AS) Mosque in Deir Qanoun Ras Al-Ain town, Imam Ali (AS) Mosque in Al-Bazouria town, Maskaba town mosque, and Al-Madrasa Al-Diniya Mosque in the city of "Tyre" are among the mosques that will host the circles.

The events will be broadcast live from the Facebook page of the institute.

Eid al-Mab’ath marks the anniversary of the day Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was chosen as God’s messenger. It is annually celebrated by Muslims all over the world and is an official holiday in several states.
