Quranic Programs for Women Held by Dar-ol-Quran Center of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The women section of the Dar-ol-Quran Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine in Karbala, Iraq, continues its Quranic programs for women and girls.

Amal al-Matouri, who is in charge of the section, said the programs include Quran recitation circles and educational courses, the website of the Astan reported.

There are also religious speeches and recitation of supplications and prayers like the Ashura Supplication, the official noted.

They include a series of speeches delivered by Zaynab al-Ghadhi from Karbala satellite network aimed at raising awareness among women about the role of Hazrat Zaynab (SA) in the Karbala event.   

She added that Iraqis as well as pilgrims from Iran, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have attended some of the Quranic programs.

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
