It was held by the Dar-ol-Quran Center, affiliated to the cultural affairs deputy of the Astan in Najaf.
Amir Kassar, head of the Dar-ol-Quran Center, said all members of the Astan who could recite the Quran took the examination.
A specialized committee assessed their examination results and their recitations, he added.
Kassar said there were 25 participants, 11 of whom were deemed qualified to recite the Quran at the minarets of the holy shrine.
The Dar-ol-Quran Center organizes various Quranic programs, including Quran recitation circles for the pilgrims at the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS).
Millions of pilgrims from all over Iraq as well as other countries visit the mausoleum in Najaf every year.
