TEHRAN (IQNA) – Giving good promises, faith, divine blessing and doing good deeds are among the main factors contributing to peace and happiness in family.

Muslim family

This is according to religious scholar Mohammad Ali Rezaei Esfahani, speaking in a session focusing on social interpretation of the Holy Quran. Following are excerpts from his remarks:

God says in Verse 21 of Surah Ar-Rum: “And of His signs is that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you might reside with them, and has put kindness and mercy between you. Surely, there are signs in this for those who think.”

This verse introduces woman as a source of peace for men.

The factors that help one reach peace include:

1- Giving promises. Giving promises to family has been given a lot of emphasis, so much so that even if a man gives false promises to the family, it would not be wrong because it is a way of giving hope. In the Battle of Badr, God promised the believers that He will send 3,000 angels to help them, although the believers did not see the angels.

2- Doing good. When one receives good news, it gives him peace of mind. Also, doing good to one’s spouse brings peace. Men should give part of their wage to their wife and when they travel or go on pilgrimage should take their wife with them.

3- Remembering God. The Holy Quran says remembering God is a source of peace. Remembering God can be done in various ways, such as saying prayers, reading the Quran, encouraging one another to do good, etc.

4- Faith. Many verses of the Quran talk about faith and its important role. The more the faith of a family, the more peace of mind its members will achieve and the stronger the pillars of the family become. One can enhance his faith by studying, saying prayers, reading the Quran, reciting supplications, associating with good people, etc.
